Who qualifies for the second distribution?
The damages class covers U.S. merchants that accepted Visa or Mastercard credit or debit cards between Jan. 1, 2004 and Jan. 25, 2019. It includes closed businesses that did not opt out, according to the extended-deadline notice from the Washington Retail Association. The claim filing period for the $5.54 billion fund closed Feb.
4, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. Merchants can no longer file new claims, reports the court-deadline update from the National Sporting Goods Association. Later payments go only to timely filers. The second distribution does not cover all class members. It is limited to the specific claim population detailed in the May 26, 2026 motion, not a full final payout.
When was it approved and paid?
Class Counsel filed a motion May 26, 2026 requesting a second initial partial distribution. The Eastern District of New York approved it June 15, 2026 as in claimants' best interests, according to the June 2026 update on the official Payment Card Settlement site. The first partial distribution was approved in Oct./Nov. 2025.

How do you check your status?

Check Correspondence for deadlines, deficiency notices and payment notices. That tab shows what the administrator needs from you and when. Use this quick check:.

- Confirm Claim Status shows an eligible, cured claim
- Confirm Payment Status for payee and mailing details
- Open every item in Correspondence and follow its deadline
How much will merchants receive?
Each merchant's recovery is pro rata based on its Visa/Mastercard interchange fees paid versus total fees paid by all class members. Calculations use Epiq's database and TIN-verified figures subject to challenge, according to the June 3, 2026 report from PaymentWeek on the May 27 court filing. That share means higher-fee-volume merchants receive larger checks.
Lower-volume merchants receive smaller checks from the same pool. Unresolved, deficient or TIN/name-mismatch claims are held for protection until cured. Keep portal contact information current, whitelist paymentcardsettlement.com, and use only the administrator rather than paid third-party filers.
